(Golf) John Rush Trophy 2006

The Old Tauntonian & Old Bournemouthian Golf Day was held at Dibden Golf Centre on Thursday 18 May. The day was overcast throughout and the wind high, but everyone kept dry.

It was a good event with 31 golfers and two additions for dinner (Eric Godley and Stuart Wilson). Signs of the passing years – only one player was under 60! Sadly, John Rush himself could not make it. He was 89 this year but says he intends to be there in 2007.

Results

The John Rush:

1. John Lewis, playing off 22, with 36 points – a Public Enquiry has been tabled!
2. Harry Tollerfield, off 9, with 34
3. Norman Hardisty, off 18, with 32 (after countback)
4. John Gannaway, off 21, with 32 (after countback)
5. Pete Muddiman, off 8, with 31

Bournemouth Seniors:

1. Ray Cutler, off 19, with 32 (after countback)
2. "Polly" Perkins, off 18, with 32 (after countback)
3. Marcolm Gritt, off 28, with 29 (he says he's disabled, others say it's an overtight bandana!)
4. Gordon Prosser, off 16, with 28
5. Alan Carver, off 22, with 27

You will deduce that IF there had been an inter-school contest the OTs would have won it.
