Summer Lunch 2008

This year's Summer Lunch, on Wednesday 13 August, saw 62 people gather at Keats Restaurant for a jolly occasion.

The Summer Lunch, although an informal get-together, has been used to mark special events. This year there were two, the 90th Birthday of Steve White and the departure from Taunton's College of Jonathan Prest.

Steve White attended Taunton's School and played football, cricket and golf for the OTs for 50 years plus! The success of the teams he captained is the stuff of legend. David Harrison, OT and Captain of The Royal and Ancient Golf Club, proposed Steve's health and wished him a Happy Birthday.

Roger Parsons, Chairman of the OTA, spoke of Jonathan Prest and the special relationship he had forged with the Association. He thanked him for what he had done and wished him well for the future. To mark his tenure as President of the Association, Roger presented Jonathan with an Old Tauntonians' commemoration plaque and an Old Tauntonian tie.
