Letter of thanks to Ted Colenutt and the Old Tauntonians' Association for their part in Trafalgar Dorset contains the following text:
TRAFALGAR DORSET
Celebrating the passage of the
New Trafalgar Dispatch through our County
at Portland, 22nd August 2005
Dear Ted,
This is by way of a "local dispatch" to thank you for making the journey to Portland, and for taking a leading part in the wreath laying service.
Admiral Sir Barrie Wilson, the Chairman of NTD Dorset, sent me a very nice letter, saying that he "…felt that the (NTD) event went splendidly with its own "Portland" style," and commented that he "…was so pleased and moved with the wreath laying at Jack Mantle's grave." He asked me to pass on his thanks to all concerned, which I am very happy to do.
On a personal note, I am full of admiration for you and for the Old Tauntonians' Association for maintaining the links with Jack Mantle and FOYLEBANK. Again, very many thanks for helping to convey a message which was so meaningful to all present.
Yours sincerely
John Culley

Battle of Trafalgar and the death of Horatio Nelson
